South Store Cafe
It was the childhood dream of Amanda (a.k.a. Mandy’s) to open a cafe. At nine years old she walked into an ice cream parlor that overlooked the puget sound and said “this is what I want to do when I grow up.” Amanda first opened the South Store Cafe on January 18th, 1999. It is seventeen miles Southwest of Portland Oregon in a historic community called Scholls, Oregon, in the heart of the Willamette Valley wine country. From 1999 Mandy labored at the cafe developing a coffee and lunch trade. She learned to cook for her neighbors and friends. The cafe became the heart and place of connection in the community and remains such today.
